Home Smart Home has been in the home automation business in Calgary, Alberta since 1997.

When we started there were few automation options. The X-10 protocol has been around since 1975 and we were certified X-10 Pro designers and installers. While X-10 is still a viable home automation ecosystem for some use cases, it is limited because of its general inability to provide status updates, or feedback, from the devices it is controlling.

Home automation and IoT devices have come a very long way since those early days, which many different wired and wireless protocols, devices and ecosystems. While this opens the door to automate virtually every device, it creates another issue to make all of these devices work together.

We've seen it all, and we can make all devices and ecosystems work together to truly make your home or office SMART - even X-10 if that's what still works for you :)
